David is Vice President of Engineering at HiddenLayer, overseeing the development of their flagship product, MLDR. David has been fascinated with machine learning since the 80s when he designed a narrow expert system for interactively identifying D&D monsters on an 8-bit Apple IIe. He has since amassed over two decades of experience in the cyber-security industry, from malware research to developing threat detection technologies and building DevOps organizations. An early pioneer in the adoption of AI/ML for threat detection, David has been a prolific creator of machine learning based security technologies, with over 13 patents awarded for his inventions in the field of cyber-security since 2013. In recent times, David has been investigating real-world attacks against ML/AI systems and developing defensive countermeasures to combat adversaries.
